Connecting Entrepreneurs to Crowdfunding and Venture Capital with Frank Webster

20 Oct 2015

VCM would like to thank all who attended our first speaker event of the year as well as our guest speaker,
Frank Webster (Twitter: @frankwebster) from Seedrs.

Frank talked about the increasing relevance and popularity of Crowdfunding in today's startup scene. He also shared examples of startups who owe their success to Crowdfunding, such as Seedr's clients - Oppo Ice Cream, Chapel Down and Landbay.

It was certainly an insightful session for all!

Launch Event with Simon Clark & Zach Tan
10 MARCH 2015

Venture Capital Movement has finally been launched, after months of working hard to turn our idea into reality!  A very big thank you to all who came down to our launch event yesterday and for making it a huge success.

We had the honour of having Mr Simon Clark and Mr Zach Tan as our guest speakers for the event, whom we want to thank for sharing with us their invaluable insights and experiences in the venture capital industry. We received great feedback from the audience that the speakers were engaging and that they have gained a better understanding of the venture capital industry.

We were very privileged to have representatives from JamJar Investments, KPMG, Venture Capital World Summit, Telefonica and UCL Advances who came down to support our launch. There was also a great turnout of approximately 80 pax, with both undergraduate and postgraduate students from LBS, UCL, LSE, Bath and Cambridge.

It was indeed an interesting evening hearing from experienced players in the venture capital industry. We hope that you have benefited from the session with Simon and Zach as much as we did.

VCM is open to any form of collaboration opportunities with student societies/companies/organisations and also to recruiting new members into our society. Feel free to email us at for more enquiries.

Do look out for updates through our Facebook posts, Twitter (@VCMovement), website. We will be doing email updates too, so do drop us a note if you wish to be in our mailing list.

We thank you once again for your support and we look forward to seeing you at our future events!
